Baker Street

Made possible by a Nazi bomb in World War II, the London Planetarium is one of the world's largest and best planetariums. Connected to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum used to be a cinema. It had been the desire of Madame Tussaud's management, which owned the property, to demolish the cinema due to falling attendance, and to build a small planetarium. Conveniently for them, a 1000 lb. bomb dropped on the very spot occupied by the cinema (and leaving the Wax Museum untouched) and opened the way for construction of the present mammoth copper dome. Containing several smaller domes within the larger one and featuring the latest computerized projection equipment, the planetarium is capable of delivering a "cloudless night sky every day."
