The unique 500 ft landmark of Glastonbury Tor (steep hill), rising sheer from the Somerset levels seems to be the inspiration behind it all. The impressive St. Michael's Chapel surmounts the Tor. City of Wells, officially England's smallest City, which has maintained much of its medieval character with its beautiful Cathedral, moated Bishops Palace and oldest complete medieval street in Europe. Return via Cheddar Gorge, a spectacular ravine cut through the Mendip Plateau, breathtaking limestone rocks rise 400 ft on either side.
