When I had the inimitable unquestionable unparalleled dubious pleasure of suggesting a restaurant to the two blokes who own this Web site, it was to this charming little hacienda Los Molinos, that I dragged them. Situated just a cruise missile's throw from Hammersmith Broadway in the leafy setting of Brook Green, this solid-pine furnished tapas bar serves a wonderfully eclectic choice of dishes, ranging from squid in its own ink to smoked pork loin, calamari, chicken livers, kidneys, fish, steak, fresh anchovies; the list is endless. All the dishes come in two sizes; very small and small (regardless of the word "grande" used when a price-hike seems inevitable) but it does mean that you can enjoy a positive cornucopia of flavours and textures.
The service is so slow that it's not a bad idea to order the starters when making your reservation! We waited for close to two weeks for the first sight of an earthenware dish but when it arrived, we decided that, malnutrition aside, it was worth the endless whining. Bring your own atmosphere as, apart from paintings of bulls getting spiked with javelins, there is a shortage of authenticity to the place. The tables are too small and the chairs so solid that it took 45 minutes for the numbness to wear off; at least that's what Rod said.
It represents very good value as we paid £35 per head, including wine and beer, and were certainly not hungry afterwards; just anaesthetised in our rear ends and unable to walk.
