The Fat Man

 LEBANESE

AL HAMRA
31 Shepherd Market London W1
Tel: 0171 493 1954
Fat Man rating: 72/100

Situated just behind the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, Shepherd's Market is synonymous for two damn fine attributes; restaurants and hookers. Assuming that your visit to London is not for salacious indulgence (if it is, try Madame Sin on 0171 111 1234 and say that Steve sent you), then I heartily recommend that you avoid the small doorways with exotic enticements and make your way to this stylish, popular haven of fine Lebanese cuisine, Al Hamra. Whilst the seating is a little cramped, the atmosphere is very authentic and the meze truly mouth-watering. The main courses are predominantly from the charcoal grill and if you still have room, try something sticky and gooey for dessert. In the very remote possibility that it is a nice evening, there are a few tables outside which not only have a great view of the "French Mistress" at Flat 2, no 27 but also gives you the opportunity to breathe in some real carbon monoxide; a real buzz before narcosis envelopes you. Great value at around £25 per person and the wine list is suitably inexpensive.

Kids welcome.
