 Ellerton Priory - Cistercian Nuns 1227
Three miles southeast of Reeth
This tiny Yorkshire Nunnery is on private land, but easily seen from the B6270 running immediately alongside - or you can stay for bed & breakfast at Ellerton Abbey House. The surviving ruins are principally the 15th century tower of a simple 100ft long church, though there are also some remnants of the eastern gable.
The site is on private land, not open to the public. It can, however, be viewed from the road.
