This establishment, set a couple of hundred yards away from the infamous Dartmoor prison, offers camping, bunkhouse accommodation and more salubrious accommodation for those that prefer bed and breakfast in the old building. As a centre from which to explore the wilderness of Dartmoor it has few equals and the charges are as reasonable as any that you will find in the area. At the heart of this family run camping centre lies a public house built in 1785. The stone slab floors, the granite walls and the three log fires combine to give a real country coziness that so many of our other village pubs seek to emulate, but fall short of Mine host has run the place for twenty seven years, and his mother had it before him.
