Castell Coch (Kasteth Koch),
Glamorganshire (Mid)

A most romantic, but modern castle, built on a steep wooded slope at the entrance to the Taff Valley, this is the work of architect William Burgess to satisfy the whims of the 3rd Marquis of Bute. Entered by a wooden drawbridge, its interior is a rich, Victorian extravaganza decorated with a mixture of Aesop's Fables and Oriental fantasy.

Next Stop: Carew, Pembrokeshire
