Plas Penmynydd (Plars Pen Munith), Anglesey

Plas Penmynydd is the seat of the famous Tudor family, so influential in British history. Owen Tudor was born here, who married Catherine of Valois, widow to Henry V; their grandson became Henry VII. The present mansion was erected in 1576, but is not open to the public. In the 14th century church, pieces of the alabaster tomb of Gronw Tudor, uncle of Owen, were supposed to cure eye disease. The mansion is two miles northwest of Llanfair P.G. on B5420.
