Irnham Hall

Day 2 - On the way back to Ropsley we went through Irnham.

Irnham Hall

Irnham Hall is next to the church of St. Andrew and is privately owned. From the churchyard a good view can be had of the hall, if you are tall or can find something to stand on. The house was built for Sir Richard de Thimbleby in the early 16c but there are some indications of an earlier 12th century house to be found in its structure. This is a large sprawling house and offers a rewarding aspect.

In the village the road passes close by a fine 17th century gatehouse.

Next Stop: Boston
