Guyzance Priory
Seven miles south of Alnwick

Guyzance Priory Popularly called a 'Priory,' the little Norman chapel at Branshaugh Bridge was a minor cell of Alnwick Abbey. The name Guyzance, adopted by the nearby village, derives from its unusual dedication to St. Wilfred of Gysnes. It stands on private land in the middle of a field of sheep, but can be easily seen from the road.

The site is on private land, but can be viewed from the road.

Next Stop: Warkworth Church
