Cumbria's Largest Millennium Attraction

OPENING EASTER 2000, Rheged will be Cumbria's newest, largest and most dramatic visitor attraction. Named after the ancient kingdom of the Dark Ages, and located two minutes from Juction 40 of the M6 in the direction of Keswick, Rheged will also be Britain's largest earth covered building.

Rheged's centerpiece is the first all British large format film, shown on a six story high screen, which will take you on a dramatic journey back in time to reveal 2000 years of Cumbria's history, mystery and magic. Built on seven spectacular levels, the Rheged Discovery Centre will also include a Cumbrian showcase of rather special shops, restaurants combining local delicacies with the panormaic views, a superb sound and light show and a truly inspiring journey through Cumbria - all under one grass covered roof. Even Mountain Hall with its babbling brooks and massive limestone crags, makes you feel lkke you are in the very heart of Cumbria.
