> Hello, tho I am no longer with Britannia.com (go to Celticinfo.com) I did write that Caesar encountered the Druids in Britain. But I did not write that it was the first time. I thought it was understaood that the Druids had been active on the Continent long before that. The Fleeing of Celts West has been debated for years. It may or may not be correct, pwy a wir? Peter Like the Bantus fled from the Cape??? I doubt it. There may have been 2 Duces Britannorum called Arthur; but there was a root for the myths. Fleeing is an immediate rection. The Germanic peoples did not start arriving en bloc before 450me, under pressure from the Huns. A Britannia 'pacified' by 'Pax Romana' would have been fertile ground for invasion. But the Brythoniaid of what was to become Cymru were not cut off from those of 'West Wales' i.e. Cernyw, Devon etc until the battle of Deorham in 577me and from those of the north until the battle of Chester in 615me. The myth of fleeing must imply a flight on knees, and then only with an 'R' in the day of the week, and an 'R' in the month, and an'0' in the year at this rate!
