Alnwick Castle
Alnwick Castle, Northumberland Pronounced ''Annick," the castle is the home of the Percy family, the Dukes of Northumberland. It was rebuilt in the 18th century over the original Norman Castle, which retained its massive keep and curtain wall. The new interiors, partly designed by Robert Adam are are superb examples of Italian Renaissance. On display is a fine collection of paintings and china.

Hours: Easter-Sept daily; except Fri. 12pm - 5pm.
