Nick Hornby
Nick Hornby is thirty-eight years old, and married, with a young son. He worked as a teacher and journalist before publishing his first nonfiction book, Fever Pitch, which described in embarrassing confessional detail his lifelong obsession with the English soccer team Arsenal. The book has now sold nearly 300,000 copies, and spent nearly a year on the bestseller lists. But it didn't kill his obsession. Hornby still spends every winter Saturday watching his team. He regards sport and rock-and-roll as essential, if regrettable, components of the male psyche.

This book perfectly captures the love-hate relationshipthe between a fan and his team. A great introduction to English football, though an interest in football is not required to love this book. Hilarious!

A funny, contemporary novel about sex, manliness, and fatherhood. Will doesn't want any children. He wonders why it bothers people that he lives so happily alone in his fashionable, Lego-free apartment, where no kid has ever thrown up on the rug. And then Will meets Angie.
