Life in Britain has been shaped, from its beginning, by strong personalities and people of character. Not all of them have been British, some were not even real, but all have played a part in the making of the history, legend and literature of the British Isles.
We are in the process of compiling brief biographies of the people, characters and personalities who have made significant contributions in the areas of government, diplomacy, religion, war, architecture, exploration, science, literature, medicine, education, athletics, the media and the arts.
