Meliodas, King of Lyonesse
(born c.505)
(Welsh-Malyd, Latin-Meliodus, English-Melitus)
Traditionally Meliodas was King Mark of Cerniw's brother-in-law. However, it seems likely that he was, in fact, his brother, as revealed in the Italian Tristano Riccardiano. The kingdom of his father, Merion, would have been partitioned once more on the latter's death. Mark took Cerniw, and Meliodas inherited Lyonesse. This fine kingdom is no more, for it was long ago engulfed by the sea. Only its mountains (the Isles of Scilly) remain above the waves.
Generally considered legendary.
