St. Gwrfael,
Bishop of Gloucester
(Born c.AD 395)
(Latin-Vormaglus,
English-Worbald)
Gwrfael was the son of St.
Cadfrod, Bishop of Caerleon. Extremely little is known of him and
his historicity is thus in considerable doubt. He said to have been a
bishop, presumably of Glevum alias Caer-Gloyw (Gloucester), where
there is said to have once been a church dedicated to his memory. He may
have been the founder of the See.
