Dungarth, King of Dumnonia
(born c.640)

(Welsh-Dyngad, Latin-Doncatus, English-Duncan)

Succeeded his father, King Culmin. Ruled in the late 7th century. His name is a variant of that of his ancestor, Donaut. It was probably during Dungarth's reign (682) that the West Saxons "drove the British as far as the Sea" (possibly around Bideford).

Generally considered legendary.
