Prince Deiniolen the Younger, like his father, Prince Deiniol Gwyn (the Blessed) of the Northern Pennines, entered the church and founded monasteries at Llandanielfab on Ynys Mon (Anglesey) and Llandeiniolen near Bangor Fawr. Upon his father's death, he succeeded him as Bishop of Bangor (Fawr).
