King of Cynwydion
(born. c.AD 491)
Cynwyd was the eldest of the three sons of Cunbelin ab Arthuis of the Pennines. It is unclear what portion of his grandfather's domain came Cynwyd's way: possibly the region around Caer-Lerion (Leicester). Was this area named Cynwydion in his honour? Perhaps not. His son, King Cadrod, appears to have ruled further south.
He supposedly married Peren daughter of Greidal ab Arthrwys ap Garmon and they had a disputed number of sons.
